Japanese tourists are assured that they still can smoke on the Hawaii islands that are considered to be the most popular place for rest of the middle class people from the country of the rising sun.
This advertising activity, - which is, to say honestly, rather unusual for general politics of USA, - is dedicated to smoking of tobacco products on the islands and is supported by the authorities of this American state.
It should be mentioned that the prohibition of smoking in the bunged public places was introduced last year on Hawaii. In spite of the fact that Hawaiian tour operators stressed very often the fact that smoking was not forbidden at all but was just restrained for the territory of the bunged bars, restaurants, cafés and state institutions, some Japanese mass media resources hurried to inform that smoking on islands was completely forbidden, and this mistake costs much for Hawaii.
The thing is that this state lives on the expense of the inflow of the tourists, and a big number of them are the citizens of the country of the rising sun, and the majority of Japanese people are known as being inveterate smokers.
As a result the number of Japanese tourists on Hawaii has rolled of a lot lately, and the tour agency that is specialized in marketing in Japan and that is working under the aegis of the state authorities announced an advertising campaign with the motto "smoke with Aloha". In the Hawaiian language this word has a lot of meanings - passion, love, peace, compassion, mercy, farewell and greeting, but usually it is used instead of “Hello” in the dialogue with the tourists.
It is used also in relation to the whole Hawaii state that is often called the "Aloha state".
