Popular Hawaii Plastic Surgeries: Facial Cheek Implants

Whether you want to create symmetry in your face, or perhaps recover from the signs of aging, many people are considering undergoing the Hawaii plastic surgery procedure of facial implants. Growing in prevalence, cheek implants help restore the youthful quality to your cheeks, and they make flat cheekbones look fuller again. Or, those who have never been happy with the appearance of their cheekbones would appreciate what this type of Hawaii plastic surgeries could do for their facial appearance.

Cheek implants (submalar/malar augmentation), also sometimes referred to as cheek augmentation, is a form of Hawaii plastic surgeries that can bring contour and balance to the entire face of a patient. Indeed, cheeks play a tremendous role in creating the overall look and appearance of our face.

Cheekbones play a big role in defining the look of the face. For example, cheekbones that are flat can cause a nose that is big to look even bigger, and they can make a receding chin appear that much smaller. Cheekbones also serve to give balance to the face and to bring attention to the eyes.

By making modifications to the bones of the face, facial harmony can be achieved, thus giving the Hawaii plastic surgeries patient a more balanced and beautiful look. It is not uncommon for a patient to have two Hawaii plastic surgeries at the same time: cheek implants in conjunction with rhinoplasty (also known as a nose job).

Who is a good candidate for Hawaii plastic surgeries’ cheek implants?

A person who is considering having any type of Hawaii plastic surgeries, whether it is cheek implants or another form of surgery, must be in top notch physical and emotional health. The person must not have any pre-existing medical conditions to speak of, and they must not be suffering from any type of disease.

Who gets this form of Hawaii plastic surgeries?

The individuals who most often desire cheek implants via Hawaii plastic surgeries are those who have cheekbone structures that are underdeveloped. It is also common for those who have lost the padding of healthy fat and the soft tissue that make up strong cheekbones to want to restore their youthful look. The loss of the appearance of defined cheekbones most often happens naturally due to the aging process.

As time passes, the tissues and the fats in the cheekbones lessen. This causes the skin to sag, and then gives the appearance of flat and/or sunken in cheekbones. The lack of tissues making up the cheekbones can lead to wrinkles and folds developing around the mouth. Female patients of Hawaii plastic surgeries often want to have the sagging skin of their cheekbones repositioned in an upward direction. They also routinely want to create an outwardly direction, filling in the depressions and hollows of their cheekbones. This can create a more youthful and vibrant appearance for any patient.

The cheek implant through Hawaii plastic surgeries is often thought of as a type of scaffolding that serves to hold up tissues inside the cheekbones that have collapsed and sunken in, potentially by gravity and the hands of time.

It is essential during your consultation with the Hawaii plastic surgeon that you divulge your complete medical history and tell him whether or not you have ever had any other Hawaii plastic surgeries. The more information he has to add to your chart, the better prepared he will be to perform your surgery. If you have experienced dental problems in the past, this is also pertinent information for him to know.

Whether you want to rejuvenate your face structure’s youthful appearance, or perhaps give your natural cheeks greater definition, obtaining Hawaii plastic surgeries in the form of cheek and facial implants can give you the beautiful look you deserve.

Hawaii Snorkeling - An Underwater Paradise

Hawaii snorkeling is a fun activity available to almost any
skill level of swimmer, where you can discover a
breathtaking array of Hawaii's most exotic sea life a few
yards from shore. Colorful coral, lava flows, turtles and
more than 700 species of fish are found in the clear, high-
visibility waters warmed to an average temperature of 75-80
degrees Fahrenheit. Getting yourself outfitted is no
problem, as there are dozens if not hundreds of rental
facilities around, ranging in price from $10-20 day, and if
you're staying at a resort you can possibly score free
equipment available to their guests.

Once you're outfitted and ready for some Hawaii snorkeling,
head out to some of Hawaii's best snorkeling venues. Likely
the most well-known of these is Molokini. The Molokini
crater is what's left of an extinct volcano a few miles off
Maui, shaped like a crescent moon. This is s must-see spot!
Other great Hawaii snorkeling locations on Maui include
Honolua Bay, Kapalua Bay and Makena landing. Honolua is
regarded by locals as the best snorkeling and diving spot on
Maui, while Kapalua Bay boasts calm waters, safe swimming,
and one of the world's best beaches. Makena offers excellent
cave snorkeling, and endangered green sea turtles. Other
Hawaii snorkeling spots worth getting wet in would be
Hanauma Bay Nature Park on Oahu, a marine preserve; and
Waimea Bay, best known for it's surfing. In fact, during
winter months snorkeling isn't permitted due to high surf.
On the Big Island there's Kealakekua Bay and Hapuna Beach.
If your Hawaii snorkeling plans take you to Kauai, try Ke'e
Beach and Po`ipu Beach Park.

Wherever your Hawaii snorkeling trip takes you in the
islands rest assured that there is practically no bad place
to dip your feet in! Be safe though; don't snorkel alone,
snorkel in safe waters, observe warning signs, and beware of
high surf. And don't feed the fish! They've survived
centuries without Cheezits; don't get them started now!

Your Hawaii snorkeling adventure is waiting just under the
warm waters of whichever island you choose. Don't forget
the camera!

Maui Hawaii The Best Place For Travelers

When in Maui you will truly experience the meaning of the words, “Maui no ka oi” which means Maui is the best. And rightly so, you will find Maui Hawaii the best holiday destination you have been to. And when you will be there, you will find that it is a place beyond comparison and a place where you can indulge without worries and become one with nature.

It offers the great versatility of nature in the form of large beaches, majestic mountain ranges, lush rain forests, and its superior marine life which include the humpback whales in the waters. If I call it the best part of Hawaii the natives and the visitors both will agree with me beyond doubt.

Lahaina a famous town in West Maui in Hawaiian language means the “cruel sun”. When in this part of the world, always remember that you are quite close to the equator which makes the sun rays more powerful.

So when going to take a sunbath always take proper precautions so that you won’t get sunburns. After all who would like to get the sunburns on the start of holidays?

This place with all its natural treasures is a wonderful tourist destination. You can find this place changing colors with everyday of your stay. So much so that you will find time falling short to fully experience this place. You can start with relaxing on the warm beaches getting sunbath in the morning and then jumping into the waters to get a glimpse of its marine life.

The very second day you can plan for trekking and camping in its lush green valleys. And when you do all sort of activities in the day time soothes you in the evening with the cool breeze and an interesting nightlife. The city is full of events all the time. You will have to work overtime to keep up with the unlimited fun taking palace in Maui.

Reaching this city is not a problem as it is conveniently connected with the Kahului Airport which is the main airport for the islands of Maui. Getting around in the city besides its lack of public transportation systems is never a problem as you can find car rentals everywhere.

Another advantage in going in for car rentals is that you will find it cheaper than any other place in the US. Same is the case with the hotels as you can find a hotel for every budget. So if you are running on a tight budget be assured that you will find a budget hotel.

The only important part for you is to make prior reservations as the city is always packed with tourists. Some of the regular facilities offered by the hotels in the city include air conditioned rooms, car rentals, airport pick and drop facilities, swimming pools, health clubs, spas, restaurants etc.

The best part of Hawaii is always ready to embrace you into its valleys so if you yet not visited this wonderful place, just pack your bags and take off to this wonderful part of the world, Maui.

Big Island Hawaii - Where Fun & Excitement Begin

Hawaii is both the name of the chain of islands that constitute America's 50th state, and the name of the Big Island that dominates the chain in the Pacific. Hawaii, the island, is not usually called such by those native to the islands - they just refer to it as the 'Big Island'. The name, really, is unimportant - however you choose to refer to it, you can be sure you will have a wonderful time when you visit!

Lots For Tourists

The Big Island Hawaii is really "big" on attracting tourists. In fact, it is safe to say that the island is mainly geared for tourism. This is evident in some of the "touristy" flavored activities that the average person eagerly looks forward to doing on Hawaii. In case you don't know what we have in mind, here are some a few options. You can still participate in luaus, still go walk up a live volcano and still girl watch (or boy watch) on the beach. You can also dance the hula and wear leis.

Want more touristy ideas of things to do? You can drink little cocktails with umbrellas in them and listen to a ukulele player. Don't get me wrong, there still is a big demand for the "cute" or "quaint" places catered just for foreign tourists in the Big Island, Hawaii. But the average tourist seems to thrive on the typical Hawaii tourist attractions mentioned above.

Broaden Your Horizons

There's more to Hawaii than just sun-tans and tequila - you can learn about the area and it's culture, and pick up new skills whilst having fun. Take dancing lessons, learn coconut leaf weaving, or get your fortune read. You could even take a helicopter tour of the islands to see them from a whole new perspective.

Perfect For Eco Tourists

The 'Big Island' is home to some of the most interesting and unique forms of flora and fauna. If you are interested in seeing some of the fascinating wildlife, in beautiful, well preserved and natural environments, then look for some eco-tourism packages heading to Hawaii. You can hike, bird watch, go kayaking or snorkeling, go camping, or ride horses around the island - getting close to nature, while doing everything the environmentally friendly way.

Traditional American Fun

All your normal favorite activities can be enjoyed on the Big Island too - shopping, golf, and tennis for example. Hitting the links on a beautiful island with perfect weather, and ocean views is a tremendous experience. Then you can relax on an evening, take in a movie or a concert, and sample some fine Hawaiian cuisine. Check in with the Hawaii Tourist Board for details of current events.

Homeowners In Hawaii Get Windfall With Solar Power

While the federal government has created incentives for going solar, they are but a drip in the bucket compared to incentives being offered in Hawaii.

Homeowners In Hawaii Get Windfall With Solar Power

There is a move afoot to wean ourselves from fossil fuels. The federal government has attempted to promote the use of solar among homeowners through tax credits. The state of California has recently supported this by passing over three billion dollars in similar incentives. Alas, Hawaii has trumped them all, making it foolish not to go with solar power.

Governments are infamous for promoting societal changes via peoples’ bank accountants. Do what the government asks and you save money. Fail to do so, and you will spend far more. Hawaii has taken this approach to a new level.

To promote solar use by homeowners, the state has passed some amazing incentives. Homeowners converting their residences to solar get an upfront tax credit of up to $5,000. A tax credit is far more valuable than a tax deduction because it is applied directly to the amount of tax you owe, not your gross income. In this case, going solar more or less wipes out any state tax bill you would have. Talk about motivation!

On top of panel systems, Hawaii has moved to promote thermal and water heating through solar. Those installing solar thermal systems get back 35 percent of the actual cost or $2,500. If you prefer to go with a solar water heating system, the state is forcing utilities to give it to you for free upfront. A small monthly payment is then added to your utility bill until the system is paid off. Given the cost savings of solar water heaters, this essentially means you get the system for free.

Showing that the state is serious about solar, it has offered outrageous tax credits to commercial property owners as well. If a commercial property is converted to solar in Hawaii, the owner can get between $250,000 and $500,000 in tax credits. That is an absolutely huge number.

Obviously, Hawaii is a state with year around sun. Now homeowners can enjoy it at the beach and on their tax return.

Hawaii Islands Maps Available On The Internet

The best and quickest way to find Hawaii islands maps is on the internet. You can look at them on your screen, or you can print them out if you need to. The great thing about maps on the internet is that you can also get directions along with the map that will say, "Turn left on Island Boulevard." This will help you find your way around unfamiliar territory easier and not have to ask directions as much. It's very useful to view your trip step by step this way.

Finding Hawaii

If you are planning on taking a trip to Hawaii, one of the first and most important things to do is find some Hawaii islands maps. There are a number of different companies that you can go to online that sell Hawaii islands maps, and some in particular which are better than others because of the different services they provide.

The first one is a company called Lonely Planet. Each month alone, over five million travelers visit the Lonely Planet website. They come to shop, read, listen to podcasts, and learn basic information about locations before they travel to them.

They also offer detailed Hawaii islands maps, which you should remember to pack in your carry on to read on the plane, so that you can quickly and easily find your way around the Hawaiian Islands and not have to waist time or miss inter island connections because you get lost.

World Atlas

Another company that offers Hawaii islands maps is World Atlas. All maps, graphics and flags that they use are created by their own company. Not only do they offer maps of Hawaii and other locations, but they give out detailed information regarding the history and culture of each locale as well. This is definitely a site that you want to check out regardless of where you travel, as they will make any trip a great deal easier and more enjoyable.

Keeping a map handy with you at all times when you visit Hawaii is absolutely essential. This is because the names won't be familiar, and the Islands will be hard to get around. This is especially true if you have to find the departing point from one island and then remember where the arrival point for the island you traveled to was to get back to your original island. If this sounds confusing wait until you try island hopping for the first time. Don't rely on strangers to give you directions. Always have a map with you.

Allure Of Hawaii's Ko Olina Now Growing

Sophisticated travelers who frequent Hawaii have long realized that the real action in Oahu is not in Waikiki or Honolulu but rather to the west, in the Ko Olina region. Decades in the making, Ko Olina is typically considered Hawaii's most luxurious resort destination. In fact, it was historically known as the playground of Hawaiian royalty.

Recent developments in Summer of 2008 are going to make this area even more appealing for travel enthusiasts. This article discusses some of the important tourism related trends that may be of interest to Oahu vacationers.

Despite the economic problems touching most of the mainland, the Ko Olina Oahu area is seeing a healthy upswing in new activity. For instance, the State of Hawaii has announced an agreement to bring Oahu's largest shopping center west of the famed Pearl Ridge community. The junction between Ewa and Kapolei is where the new shopping development will be located.

The shopping center is known an Ka Mahana Ali'i and it will feature about 1.5 million square feet of commercial space. Also, the plans will allow up to 300 more hotel rooms and up to one hundred thousand feet of office space.

Situated on the Kapolei Parkway and the upcoming North-South access road, access for tourists will be convenient. Moreover, the extra jobs in the area will be a boon to the Island's economy generally. Some tourist officials believe the new center will help bring several thousand jobs for Hawaii.

Also, several smaller shopping centers are also planned for the community including the Laulani Village in Ewa and Kapolei Commons in West Kapolei. Ko Olina visitors already benefit from the good proximity of quite a few well known retail establishments.

Home to an extensive selection of upscale condos, the larger area will be benefited by the new shopping facilities. For instance, the brand new Ko Olina Beach Villas front the ocean and beach lagoons. Other resort properties include the Mariott Ihilani and the Marriott Timeshare complexes, both of which are beach front properties.

A temperate year round climate surrounds these properties as well as a variety of amenities including spas, golf and sheltered lagoons. The tranquil lagoons make the destination particularly appealing to families with small children. The adults typically wade into the rough of the open ocean while the kids remain in the safer lagoon waters.

Also benefiting from the shopping expansion will be the Ko Olina Beach Villas property mentioned earlier. Residents will likely prefer to shop at Ka Makana rather than driving all the way back to Waikiki.

Hawaii Vacation Packages: What To Consider When Choosing One

Are you looking to vacation in Hawaii while on a budget? If you are, there is a good chance that you may want to make your vacation reservations in the form of a vacation package. Vacation packages are known to save travelers money. Although you should be able to save money with a Hawaii vacation package, you may also end up spending more money than you originally needed to. That is why it is important that you carefully choose your Hawaii vacation package. In fact, there are a number of important factors that you may want to keep in mind when doing so. Just a few of these factors are outlined below.

One of the most important things to keep in mind, when trying to find a Hawaii vacation package, is variance. Hawaii vacation packages come in a number of different sizes, shapes, and styles. There are some vacation packages that are considered full vacation packages. These vacation packages tend to include the cost of overnight accommodations, travel arrangements, such as airfare, and a car rental. While these types of vacation packages are the ones most sought after, it is also possible to find vacation packages that are smaller or ones that do not include as many arrangements. For instance, there are some vacation packages that only include airfare and hotel accommodations and others that only include hotel accommodations and a car rental. Knowing what type of Hawaii vacation package you want will make it easier to find the perfect one.

Another factor that should be taken into consideration is cost. As it was mentioned above, vacation packages are a great way to save money. The only thing that you need to remember is that not all are moneysaving. There are some offers that would actually be cheaper if all of the reservations were made individually. To determine if you are getting a good deal, with a Hawaii vacation package, you are urged to estimate the cost of your vacation reservations individually. Taking your estimate and comparing it to the cost of your preferred vacation package is the best way to tell whether or not you can really save money by buying a Hawaii vacation package.

Restrictions and limitations are another important factor that you will want to take into consideration. When examining Hawaii vacation packages, it is important that you read all of the information given to you, including the fine print. There are a number of vacation packages that have certain limitations or restrictions, like car rentals for certain days, or a standard hotel room, instead of an elegant one. If you happen to find a vacation package that includes admission to local attractions, such as a local aquarium, check and see if there are any restrictions on when you can use your free admission. Reading the fine print will help to ensure that you end up purchasing a Hawaii vacation package that will actually be valuable to you.

The above mentioned factors are just a few of the many that you will want to keep in mind, when trying to find a Hawaii vacation package. In short, all you really need to remember is that a vacation package should save you money, not cost you money.

It seems that the beaches have been decorated by the mother nature with her own hands. You will find here beaches with red, black, green, silver and even golden sands. The scenic beauty of each and every beach is unique and beyond comparison. More over, you will find cleanest air on its all the beaches.

Weather of Hawaii:

The weather of Hawaii is also as versatile as its geography. You can have incessant rain at one place and just a few miles away, it will be totally dry. There are places which get 450-460 inches of rain per year and also the places which get only 10-15 inches of rain in a year. The normal temperature is very pleasant during the whole year (day temperature varies between 24 to 32 degree Celsius whereas nights are comparatively cooler with temperature 21 to 27 degree Celsius). But at the high altitudes, temperature may drop down to -1 to 5 degree Celsius. The high altitude mountains such as Haleakala and Mauna Kea also get snow fall during winters.

The best part is that you will feel comfortable even when humidity touches 80-85%. This is due to the trade winds which blow here to keep you in comfort. The extra things you require in your baggage are only sun glasses, hat, rain coat, light jacket and light sweaters.

One Day Tours Hawaii

If you are someone who is going to be spending a vacation in Hawaii but are going to be spending your time located at one particular resort during your stay then you may want to consider learning more about one day tours Hawaii.

Such tours allow you to spend time either for the day or you can stay overnight if you wish at some of the other islands that make up this beautiful state. So let us learn a little more about one day tours Hawaii State that a person can take.

The best way to probably first start booking these day tours is through the agent who originally arranged your vacation for your. Certainly you may well discover that they can actually get a better price for you than if you actually arranged the trips yourself.

Also there are a number of companies that are based in Hawaii that offer these trips and can be arranged once you have arrived and settled into your vacation. Some of the companies you may wish to consider using in order to organize such a trip include the following:-

1. Roberts Hawaii – This is one of the biggest tour companies on the islands and they can provide you with day and overnight trips to either Maui, Kauai or Big Island.

2. Polynesian Adventure Tours – This company is just as large as Roberts Hawaii and can provide visitors to Hawaii with 2 different kinds of tours that will take them to the outer islands as well as then taking them on from their to another island of their choice.

3. Aloha Island Tours – This particular company only offers those who wish to spend a day touring Maui, Kauai or Big Island.

The other way of doing one day tours of Hawaii and if you want to do it at your own pace and not one that has been set by a travel or tour operator is to arrange to purchase a 7 day island pass from Aloha Airlines. This costs around $336 and allows you unlimited flights between the various islands that make up Hawaii for the seven days that you have paid for. You can fly from Honolulu to Maui to Kauai to Molokai to Lanai and to Big Island using this pass. Generally the flights from Honolulu take from 20 to 45 minutes to complete depending upon which island you are going to be visiting.

So if you are someone who does not want to spend all of their vacation sat on a beach watching the ships go by, but wants to learn a little bit more about what the islands have to offer then why not arrange some one day tours of Hawaii either before you go or when you get there.

Hawaii Beach Activities Enjoyed By Many

Hawaii is a popular vacation destination. Perhaps, the greatest allure of Hawaii is its beautiful beaches and the many activities that they hold. In fact, each Hawaiian Island has an unlimited number of beaches for vacationers to choose from! If you are in the process of planning a trip to Hawaii, there are a number of benefits to examining popular beach activities before you leave for your trip.

Before focusing on a few of the many Hawaii beach activities that you can enjoy on your next trip, it is first important to focus on travel arrangements. The greatest component of having the “perfect,” Hawaii vacation, is ensuring that all travel arrangements are made and well in advance. Of course, airline reservations and car rental reservations are important, but a good percentage of your focus should be placed on booking a stay at a Hawaii vacation rental. Overnight accommodations have the ability to make or break a vacation.

The reason why your Hawaii vacation rental should be important is because of the options that you have. Hawaii vacation rentals come in a number of different formats, including Hawaii vacation condos, cottages, villas, apartment rentals, and homes. You will also find a number of features, price ranges, as well as locations. The first step is deciding which Hawaiian Island you would like to visit, like Maui. Next, affordability should examined; create a budget for yourself. Finally, quickly examine your intended vacation activities. If you would like to spend your time enjoying many of the fun and popular Hawaii beach activities, a few of which are highlighted below, a beachfront Hawaii vacation rental may be in your best interest.

In terms of Hawaii beach activities that many tourists enjoy, it is important to start with the basics. Two popular Hawaii activities that are enjoyed by individuals of all ages, including those both old and young, are swimming and boating. Many Hawaii beaches have clear, calm waters, which are ideal for young children and inexperienced swimmers. In terms of boating, many are pleased with the options they are presented with. Hawaii boat rentals are available for experienced boaters, private and group charter boats are available for inexperienced boaters, as well as dinner and one day Hawaii cruises.

If adventure is more your style, there are still a number of Hawaii beach activities that may be perfect for you. These activities include surfing, wind surfing, and body boarding. Surfing and windsurfing are Hawaii beach activities mostly reserved for those who have some surfing experience. With that being said, there is never a better time to learn to surf than on a Hawaii vacation. To find affordable surfing lessons, perform a search online. If Hawaii vacation rental reservations, such as those for a Hawaii condo, have already been made, keep location in mind. Doing so can significantly reduce your travel time, giving you more time to learn how to surf!

Snorkeling and scuba diving are two more popular Hawaii beach activities that come highly rated and recommend. These activities are not only adventurous, but educational as well. Many are amazed at all of the sea life they are able to see and learn about while scuba diving or snorkeling. As with surfing and windsurfing, lessons are available for those who are inexperienced divers. For experienced divers, beach rental stations are conveniently located all across Hawaii and near popular Hawaii beach destinations.

As a recap, proper planning and preparation is the key to having a memorable trip to Hawaii. Once the proper travel arrangements have been made, in terms of Hawaii vacation rental reservations, airline reservations, and car rental reservations, Hawaii activities should be examined. With an unlimited number of beach rental companies throughout Hawaii, rental equipment may not require special arrangements; however, lessons may. For that reason, if learning how to surf, windsurf, scuba dive, or snorkel is a must do for you, be sure to do the proper research before you leave for your Hawaii vacation.

Kona Coffee - Gold Of Hawaii

Kona coffee is a marketing name for coffee that comes from the Kona District of Hawaii. Pure Kona coffee is highly sought after all round the world. It has a richer flavor than others due to the location and environment they are cultivated.

The land of Hawaii is rich with volcanic soil and is perfect for coffee growing. The afternoon clouds also provide a good cover for it to grow. These factors give Kona coffee its character, loved by many around the world.

A Peek At History

The first coffee plant was introduced to Kealakekua-Kona by Reverend Samuel Ruggles in 1828. It was not considered a viable agricultural commodity at that time until very much later. During the California gold rush era, demand for coffee from this region starts to pick up and farmers start planting their crops along the slopes of Mauna Loa and Mount Hualalai. Many of the large estates were leased to their Japanese workers during the world coffee market crash in 1899. There are now about 600 plantations all around the district and each of them having a size of not more than 5 acres.

Coffee Farming & Process

The coffee plants in Kona will start to bloom from February to March. Green berries will soon start to appear after the flowers have been pollinated. Majority of the berries will be harvested from August to December or early January. It is estimated that each tree can produce around 20 to 30 pounds of berries.

During peak harvesting period, most mills work round the clock. All the berries will be processed within 24 hour time frame to maintain quality. The berries will be tested for freshness and color before being sent to the pulper. The pulper will strip the flesh leaving the beans. The flesh is transported back to the farms to be used as fertilizer. The stripped beans will next undergo a fermentation process of around 8 to 18 hours in giant tanks. After completing the fermentation process, the beans are cleaned and dried on drying racks covered by hoshidanas. Depending on the weather, it might take about 10 to 14 days before the Kona coffee beans are ready for the next process.

It is essential to constantly rake the beans during the drying phase. This is to prevent mildew from forming and maintain consistent quality throughout the batch. The beans are then graded according to size, shape and weight.

Controversial Kona

There is a high demand for Kona coffee due to its unique taste and quality. Many large corporations and individuals have tarnished the name by selling coffee that is not truly Kona. These blends are normally made up of only 10% Kona coffee and the remaining 90% from cheaper imports from Colombia or Brazil. It hurts the industry in Kona and gives a false impression to the consumers about the quality of pure Kona coffee. The farmers have been fighting a loosing battle to trademark the name. Even though there are labeling laws in Hawaii, there is no corresponding Federal law to support it.

Conclusion

There is no denying in the quality of Kona coffee. Great care is taken to ensure quality from the many who toil in the farms and mills to deliver you that perfect cup of beverage possible. They are all committed to deliver you the true taste of Kona - Gold of Hawaii.

Forgotten Places - Pali Lookout, Hawaii - The View Above Hawaii

The Pali Lookout on Oahu is a favorite of my Hawaii Attractions. The Scenery from atop one of the highest places on Oahu is simply amazing. I first saw this park a few days after I moved to Hawaii, and it quickly became a place that simply cannot be forgotten once viewed.

The Lookout is surrounded by amazing scenery and plant life. The trees are shaped in unique ways and the flowers and plants seem to jump out from the lush green foliage.

Pali Lookout has its ties back to ancient Hawaii. It was the site of a bloody battle between the original people of Oahu and the soon to be King Kamehameha I. The site is on the Koolau Mountain Range, and sits atop a 985-foot cliff.

The main reason this site is a favorite Hawaii attraction to many is because of two things.

  • The amazing panoramic views of the Windward coast of Oahu
  • The powerful trade winds that blow constantly

The winds atop the mountain are powerful and will sweep anything away, including you. Visitors routinely loose glasses, hats, and clothing atop this Hawaii Attraction.

This Hawaii Attraction has some features that are important to know.

  • Location is just above Honolulu and Waikiki on the "Pali Highway" (google map it)
  • Admittance is FREE
  • Parking is limited and make sure not to leave valuables in the car. The parking lot is not visible from the site.
  • Make sure to venture down the path to explore the old road
  • This is not a day long venture, so it can be added to any trip plan
  • It's advisable to not wear a dress or have long hair un-restrained

Once down on the lower end of the lookout that you can take, you will get a different perspective on the views of the Pali Lookout. This trail follows along the route of the Old Pali Highway. There is a wide variety of plants along this trail and is worth a quick look. The old road was built before 1900 and runs into the mountain. While driving to this Hawaii Attraction make sure to venture into the tunnels making way to the other side of Hawaii.

Nuuanu Pali State Park is open daily (weather permitting) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A light jacket is recommended. Remove hats, caps or anything else that may be blown away by the winds. Take the H1 freeway (eastbound) from Waikiki, then take the Pali Highway, Route 61 via Nuuanu Pali Drive. Follow the signs to the lookout, a great Hawaii Attraction.

Hawaii Vacation Activities - Unlimited!

Yes, Hawaii is known for its great beaches. And true, there’s nothing quite like basking under the warm Hawaiian sun and feeling your cares drift away with each gentle wave that laps at your feet. But there’s a lot more to the Aloha State than soaking up some sun. You can get out and do something!

You can explore Hawaii on land, air or sea and take advantage of all the state has to offer.

For hikers, there are fabulous nature trails on every Hawaiian island, including treks for beginners and experts. On Maui, Haleakala is revered as one of the state’s best hiking spots. A favorite hike on Oahu is the 45-minute climb to the top of Diamond Head, where visitors are rewarded with sweeping views of Waikiki, Honolulu and the Pacific Ocean. On the Big Island, head to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and take on the Kilauea Iki Trail, a five-mile adventure that begins at the Thurston Lava Tube.

If hiking is not your thing and you would rather pedal your way through Hawaii, you will not be left out. Haleakala offers a downhill ride that is very enjoyable in both exercise and scenery. Then there is the Garden of the Gods on Lanai. This looks like the surface of the moon with very colorful rocks.

Horseback riding is always a popular outdoor activity. Enjoy "happy trails" on the Big Island, where you can be a paniolo (cowboy) for a day at places like Parker Ranch, one of the largest ranches (175,000 acres) in the United States.

There is even skiing on Hawaii. Yes, you read right, skiing! The top of Mauna Kea will usually surprise you with snow from November to April. Be prepared, however, these slopes should be reserved for the most advance skiers. Amateurs should try something else on Hawaii.

And, of course, there is the ocean. This is an area that should not be overlooked. Believe it or not, some people have gone to the island and never stepped foot in the water! Gentle waves along with the shallow water make learning how to surf at Waikiki Beach perfect. Hanauma bay offers snorkeling while off Lanai’s south shore are the Cathedrals, which is a wonderful SCUBA diving location. Deep Sea fishing can be found off Kailua-Kona and the Tuna and Marlin are ready to be caught. If you would like to kayak, head on over to Kauai and go along the Napali Coast for some breath taking views.

To see all the beauty of Hawaii from the top, try hang gliding or helicopter at one of the many providers on the island. Oahu even has skydiving to offer you. There, a licensed instructor will show you how to not panic when you jump out of a plane at 13,000 feet so you can open your shoot on time. Do not worry, though, it will be a tandem jump, and if you do go blank, the instructor will pull the cord for you.

The list of outdoor activities goes on and on: camping, hunting, clay shooting, sailing, windsurfing, jogging, whale watching, parasailing and so much more. There’s a whole world of adventure awaiting you in the Hawaiian Islands. Just go for it!

Among the many beautiful spots to visit on Kauai are the more popular destinations of Poipu Beach and Waimea Canyon, along with many others.

Another popular destination is the "Big Island," or the island of Hawaii, which is twice the size of the other islands in the chain. The attractions on this island are plentiful, so your vacation on the Big Island could include anything from the Parker Ranch, the world's most active volcano, to the beauty of the gorgeous Kohala coast. Modest accommodations are available on the Big Island, but it is most famous for its beautiful luxury resorts.

Oahu is the island with the most commonly known vacation spots in Hawaii. Places like Waikiki beach, Honolulu and Pearl Harbor are located here. This island is the most populated island in Hawaii and has the state capitol and there are many beautiful resorts on Oahu.

Another island in the Hawaiian chain is Maui which is another very popular island. It is named "the Valley Island" and has the world's largest dormant volcano, Haleakala. There are many gorgeous upscale resorts on Maui, which is known for its picturesque beauty.
